Thumbs up Black Prophecy in the press

In an article about MMOs in space, Black Prophecy received quite positive feedback in comparison with our competitors.

Please see today's Community Bulletin for more information on the beta schedule. It's true that technically we could start the beta at any time but we won't without the support of a publisher. That deal remains to be inked so I'm afraid the beta will have to wait awhile. We'll of course keep you notified of any developments, and we're all anxious to get moving forward!

It does not count as "press" but I have been pimping BP a lot on other sites especially the Star Trek Online forums. The community got so ripped and is very angry at the way things are being handled there, I figured I would let them all know about this project, the awesome dev team work and great community.

The great thing about BP there really are not any competitors to speak of in the Sci Fi MMO space that are putting a freelancer style game into a MMO format.

Lets look at the facts.... I can only think of 4 current MMO's that have a space component

Eve - is essentially a giant boring spreadsheet in space and you can not pilot your ship

Vendetta - Possibly the only similar game but very old looking and bad production

SWG - Space component is underdeveloped and not the main focus of the game

Star Trek - Space combat is actually not bad in this game but lacks the modular ship building and general control over your characters freedoms, the game world you play in is very constrictive.

American Developers seem to be these days forcing a participation style of game play and giving you as little control over your - almost as if you were watching a long movie as to actually having any control over the situation, oh and of course trying to make things multi platform means bad graphics for PC players - BF:BC2, MW2 are good examples of poor graphics due to console porting - especially when compared to older games like Crysis

So the only real competition is in the general game market competing for the $ , BP has a very real point of difference from everything else currently on the market - It may very well be the final bastion of hope for PC gamers.
