Welcome to issue #4 of the Stellarvox Community Bulletin.
Once again I provide you with the latest information and gossip from the Black Prophecy universe. The past two weeks have been relatively quiet and we only had a few nibbles to cater to your curiosity about Black Prophecy. This is nothing unusual and happens quite often during the development of an online game. So, there’s no need to worry if we go through a few weeks of low activity from time to time. The development team is still working hard to progress the game and my visionary orb told me that you can expect much more information about Black Prophecy in the near future. Many of you have asked for an off-topic forum to discuss and chat about topics that are not related to Black Prophecy and so we have provided one. The Babylon Health Club gives you a place for your daily chatter about whatever takes your fancy while the Spire Station remains your venue for discussing all the various aspects of the game, submit ideas and suggestions and ask questions. From what I have seen so far, the Babylon Health Club is set to be a busy place in the future. Some people already have asked what this Babylon Health Club is all about and I can only tell you that it is a well visited establishment and has a great reputation amongst the pilots. No, I won’t tell you more as I don’t want to spoil your fun when you visit it for the first time once the game is released. We also featured an interesting new article series in the past week – Black Prophecy: Behind the Scenes. In this series I interview members of the development team who talk about themselves and various aspects of their work on Black Prophecy. With this exclusive “view behind the curtain” we intend to bring the team a bit closer to you and show you the people behind Black Prophecy. News summary Interview with Kirk Lenke on Gamesnafu.com Kirk sat together with the team from Gamesnafu.com and explained several interesting aspects of Black Prophecy, e.g. special maneuvers, clan and faction PvP, resource stations and more. Black Prophecy: Behind the Scenese As already mentioned, we have started a new article series called Black Prophecy: Behind the Scenes in which members of the development team talk about themselves and their work on Black Prophecy. CEO Kirk Lenke and Development Director Simon Bachmann were the first to be interviewed in the inaugural issue. A must read! Three new in-game screenshots We know that you like eye candy and so we have released three new stunning in-game screenshots of Black Prophecy showing several different space ships in action. Community Spotlight In another round of the community spotlight I will again point out interesting topics the community has been discussing in the past weeks. The joystick control discussion thread started by Pilot “Judge” is still a hot topic for most of the pilots. Let us know your thoughts about your preferred way of controlling your ship. Pilot “Wannie” wants to know what you will do when you make your first step into the game. Why don’t you share it with him? Pilot “TheFrog” has started an interesting discussion about morality in games. Does the possibility to make morally positive or negative decisions create more immersion in the gameplay? Let us know! Pilot “Bitterking” seems to be always up for a little bar fight and wonders who would win such a rumble; the Tyi or the Genide. On whom would you place your bet? Pilot “Brika” and Pilot “Lomsor” have made the first Black Prophecy fan movies and both look very promising. Maybe this is a motivation for you to create your own Black Prophecy fan movie? Pilot “Vonaberg” is looking out for old Wing Commander Fans to take a trip down the memory lane. Seems like it’s time to blow the dust off of your Rapier and chat about the good ol’ days! The legendary Admiral Gira himself has been spotted in the Pilot’s Network lately to rally the fleet and prepare them for the upcoming battles. Stand to attention! Into the future The look behind the scenes will of course be continued and released on a monthly basis. For the next issue I will see if I can get some people from the coding and QA department into an interview to squeeze out some more interesting information for you. If you want to see one of your questions addressed in an upcoming issue you can post them in the official forums. Please keep in mind that I will not be able to cover every single question but I will strive to get answers on the most interesting topics. Some people have asked for an explicit role-play forum but we don’t see the necessity for such a forum at the current time as there still too few role-play related threads. Once we see an increase we will prepare a special forum for your role-play sessions. In the coming weeks we will again have several interviews in prospect, with Voodoo Extreme, Warcry Network and the online games magazine Thirteen1. So keep your eyes peeled! That’s all for this issue. Thanks for your time and stay tuned for the next issue of the Stellarvox Community Bulletin!
