Default Oceanic/Australia lagg

Hi, BP inhabitants I'm new here as you all can see by my posts

Id like to start off by staying, not only is this game visual candy but its been the kinda game Ive been looking for since Darkfall failed or maybe even before that since i was hoping that Huxley would have been released somewhere other than Korea =(

Anyway to the issue at hand, i know this may be hella early to consider but i haven't seen a post as yet about oceanic latency and server locations. Does anyone have any of this information, or have any input on anything concerning the topic?

I'm not saying we should force a Oceanic server because it would definitely be a epic game if it was worldwide however latency has always been a drawback for real time twitch games so i may have to bench this game if the lag unbearable for pvp

Thanks
-EAT

Welcome, and the short answer is no, we don't know anything about server locations.

I'm not sure how much of an issue it would be, there were quite a few players from that side of the world in Neocron and they never really complained of any severe issues...

I really just wanted to know how much of a edge Euro/US players get over the people down under. With a real time shooter like this PvPing would just be too painful seeing your ghosted projectiles hit the targets shield, but not do any damage =(

It is yet too early to say where the servers will be located but we will of course consider different locations worldwide to provide equal quality and performance for every player.

Good to hear.... especially since BP is being pitched as a action-combat game rather than a freelancer-esqe action/adventure/rpg game.

I don't play fps games on USA servers with a 300+ ping, nor would I play a Action-SpaceCombat game with a 300+ ping.

My connection at home is excellent for domestic gaming, BF2 servers in australia around 30-65ms. Overseas servers easily 250ms+

Hmm I actually had never thought of that... I hope my pingrate is decent. I'd hate to be toasted ingame because of lag.

I hope there will be US servers, I don't want my ping to be anything more than 50 .
