I don't know if you realize this, but Black Prophecy is a MMO.

The game will change dramatically within the first year. Your collectors paraphernalia will be out of date even before the game is released. Everything from art content, to music, to fiction and gameplay will change.

If I wanted to pay money for out of date galaxy pictures, I'd pay for a high res color printout of the latest NASA images.

It's called novelty. People want something like this so that they have a piece of what used to be, even if it's out of date.

Hey I understand the lure of a collector's edition. I have my panda collar, diablo stone, and whatever it was for the zergling in WoW. After that I didn't see the point in getting collector's editions. Yeah it's fun and all, but really...what's the point?

Now, if you throw in some more options for ship customization such as unique paints or designs I could see it. Other then that, there's nothing else I'd really desire.

unless a collectors edition could give you an item you can use in-game. like the special edition glasses in star wars galaxies.
