Many things have happened since the last issue of the Stellarvox Community Bulletin and so we have lots of new stuff to report. Since the announcement of the partnership between gamigo and Reakktor Media, several matters had to be addressed before we were able to give full speed ahead again. But now everything is set to take the next steps on the road to release.
NEWS SUMMARY Closed beta started The probably most anticipated information of this year was the announcement of the start of closed beta testing. And we were finally able to cater your desires! Beginning with a small group of selected testers, the initial closed beta stage started at the end of April. We will gradually increase the numbers of beta testers to give more people the chance to experience Black Prophecy's fantastic universe. So keep your eyes peeled for upcoming beta announcements in the official forums! Forum migration to gamigo After the partnership between Reakktor Media and gamigo was signed, the official forums had to be migrated to gamigo's web space. The migration was completed successfully and the forums are available once more at the new URL. Important notice: In order to be able to reply to posts or create new threads, you will need to connect your forum account to an existing gamigo account. Please see this forum thread for further instruction. Next_G press event Here at gamigo, we are always looking for an appropriate opportunity to present our new games. This year's next_g event was held in the East Hotel in Hamburg, Germany. Among other games, Black Prophecy was presented to members of the press and received overwhelmingly positive feedback. At the next_g event we also released the Black Prophecy next_g trailer, which offers even more fascinating glimpses into Black Prophecy. Official Facebook page launched In addition to the official Black Prophecy Twitter feed, which has already been available for quite a while, we now have launched the official Black Prophecy Facebook page. Just check it out and become a fan of Black Prophecy on Facebook! Behind the Scenes issue #4 After the announcement that Black Prophecy will be released as a free-to-play game, some people had concerns that this would have a negative effect on the quality of the game. Patrick Streppel, member of the gamigo executive board, and Kirk Lenke, CEO of Reakktor Media, took these concerns seriously and answered several questions from the community in the fourth issue of Black Prophecy: Behind the Scenes. See what Patrick and Kirk have to say about Black Prophecy's free-to-play model! New screenshots The guys at MMORPG.com asked us to provide them with more Black Prophecy eye candy and of course we did not hesitate to comply. In the upcoming weeks, we will send MMORPG.com even more screenshots, so keep an eye open for more fantastic glimpses of Black Prophecy. Check out the first three screenshots now! Social Groups feature activated The Social Groups feature allows you to create your own public or private group within the official community forums. This is definitely a good central point in order to create even more awareness for your Black Prophecy fan site or clan. Why not go have a look at the already existing groups and join one of them or even create your own? COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT As always, we keep you posted about interesting discussions and events from Black Prophecy's community. Pilot "Rooster" has summed up all available information in a single forum thread that gives a pretty good overview of what awaits in the final game. Maybe you even have something to add? Pilot "voyager" had some interesting suggestions for Black Prophecy of things he feels were missing in other comparable games. What would you like to see in Black Prophecy? Pilot "dudemanjac" really likes sci-fi pew pew and wants to know what your favorite cannons, blasters and lasers are. Pilot "Sturman" has started a creative contest and is looking for the best character drawings. So grab your pen and start drawing right away! Pilot "Dreganius" has written his first Black Prophecy-related story and would like to hear your opinion about it. The same goes for Pilot "brogie", who has given his imagination free rein in his own story. Maybe this will serve as motivation for you to start your own story within the Black Prophecy universe? And last but not least: we have two new fan sites on the horizon! English-speaking pilots should check out http://www.blackprophecy.co.uk/ while http://black.prophecy.online.fr/ serves our French-speaking pilot community. INTO THE FUTURE With closed beta testing now running, the development team has got its hands full of work but is very motivated to release Black Prophecy to the market. While they are busy with development tasks, the gamigo team spares no effort to create even more awareness for Black Prophecy. We will be present at E3 and will show some more previously unreleased video footage of Black Prophecy. So that's it for this issue of the Stellarvox Community Bulletin. See you in the next issue or at a space station near you!
