Closed Beta Next Wave?

So Blackprophecy Closed Beta has now been underway for about 3 weeks or so... still the same original 100 people so far...

But other than a few screenshots over on MMORPG.com and a new Facebook page oh, and announcing a couple of new Mod's to the team and boards, not a lot of news has been released, I fully understand and realise that anything directly within the CB at the moment is well under wraps via the NDA. The post from Rooster has so far been the best source of information on Blackprophecy as a whole, but it still doesn't answer following question.

However, my question(and I say mine, as in personally, not coming down via the TPN) is; When do you plan on inviting the next wave of Closed Beta testers into Blackprophecy?


PS: Don't take this as a rant/flame/troll, it's not my intention. Just curiosity to know when the next wave is being invited and when I can go back to checking my spam mail folder! Just incase! :P

LMAO! I totally agree hey. You know, out of an control group of 100 testers you might find a few bugs and even a few super great ideas but if this groups size is increased or even different servers used for 100pilot groups, the amout of input and Sparkly ideas will be so much more.

Even though i respect most gamers and their abilites, im a VET from Wing Commander (whole series) Freespace, Freelancer, jumpgate , X3 and EVE... Surely a different point of view from different VETS and Newbies alike would be most valuable to a dev team of a release like BP.

Do you know if they wil have open beta's? Or will the retail just pop out?

If Reakktor's previous MMORPGFPS Neocron is anything to go by, then there will be an extensive closed beta phase, then it was moved onto an open beta phase. This lasted quite some time before it was shutdown and retail was then released.

I'm honestly hoping for an extensive CB and OB phase as it help to make sure the game is as polished as we all want it to be! But certainly during the CB phase, I would imagine they would be selective to be able to guarantee that people are not just playing the game, but testing it.

They just should tell us more about the CB! When and how much players are able to enjoy the CB? How long will the CB still run? When do they think starting the OB?

I hope so too, input from an OB will be monumental in the awesomeness of the final retail. Do you perhaps have an idea of the retail price? And will pre-order be available?

As I already mentioned, and several Mod's too, the CB is well under wraps due to the nature of its NDA. The reasons they have done this are reasonable and what I would normally expect from a Closed Beta phase of any game.

As for the Open Beta, I don't know! lol - That is a question that only Reakktor or maybe gamigo could answer. Until then, anyone who doesn't get into the Closed Beta will just have to sit tight and wait

And that would be half the problem! With too many ideas/bugs filling the queues would be too demanding for the dev's to patch the bugs efficiently. No doubt everyone here wants a stable game to play, in order for that to happen it must start slowly and then slowly ramp it up.

As for prices or pre-order, again, I couldn't possibly answer this question as I'm only a player like you! Either Reakktor or gamigo could answer this if they chose too.

Hmm, I wouldn't expect next wave untill next month, if they even inform us about it . And yes, we haven't heard something about BP for awhile, and I don't think it's going to change untill NDA disappears. They only need testers now and they got plenty to pick from.

BP is going to be Free2Pay (F2P) - this should mean, you create an account, download the client and then play!

The only time you pay for something is when you buy something from the item shop.

Edit: Hmm just talking to someone about this. We know it's "Free 2 Play" as in no subscriptions, but I realise it's not clear whether you have to pay once for the game box or not.
