I will probably try both, but the thing is with many people, say JGE came out at Xmas and we still didnt know when BP was coming out, a LOT of people would have put a lot of time and effort and levelled up high level characters/ships by the time the other one came out... and when both games were out, and even if one was a bit better than the other, a LOT of players would choose just one, invariably the one they had already put a lot of time into learning/levelling....

I do agree that games should only come out when ready, but when directly competing with one other competitor whichever game comes out first will have a HUGE advantage in subscription numbers. A lot of those will move/stay with the better game granted, but a hell of a lot wont want to if the games arent vastly different, a HELL of a lot...

Looking at them both, I personally prefer the look of BP and with me personally, I will try them both, but again, unless they are vastly different, I will stick to the one I have already spent a lot of time on...

KK come on, get Closed Beta going soon... or at least release some majorly positive news.

JGE coming out at christmas? I dont think so.

You have to take several of things to account. Its now november, so its only about 2 months till christmas time. Considering JGE hasnt even started Closed Beta yet, there is no chance they will have CBT(God knows how many phases?), OBT, time for fixing many potential problems and bugs, and then release in just 2 months. Thats just not gonna happen.

But if it against all odds will, i guess i'll have to eat my shit right back up again.

Edit: To argue about release of JGE while we're at it, i would probably say 2010 early Q1(hopefully).

I would say Q2 2010, but if you read my post properly you would see I said "say JGE camt out at Xmas", as an example, I could have quite easily have said, "say JGE came out tomorrow", or "say SW:TOR came out in January", it was an example of one coming out before the other.

Things I don't like about JGE: I hate monsters in video games (conflux), I'm sick of jumping through jumpgates and gatecamping and gate-escaping after playing eve for so long, not really interested in mining or spending too much time money-making when I want to spend most of my time doing combat.

Are you talking about Eve? I did go into 0.0, but logistics increase dramatically, and there are still gates. Can't realistically make money doing PVP, and I got sick of NPCing and combat mission grinding, you had to put in a lot of time to get very little. Most fun I had was doing the faction wars, but lag made it unplayable.

Hahaha, I just remembered having a conversation about JGE and BP few years back with my friends on vent, where I concluded,
"Oh its a shame that JGE will come out first, because all of us will get hooked on it, and we will miss out BP completely, and I have feeling BP will be a nicer one to play"
2 years later: BP is the one to go and JGE is still far from being released .

Yea, I was just reading through my earlier comments regarding the JGE release. Feels kind of odd, reading what you've said months ago.

However, I was too optimistic. Hoping for an early 2010 release. I'm glad BP's here soon though.(hopefully)
